Bentley is one of those lucky brands featuring models that are appreciated and sold extensively, no matter what their age. Some old designs are being estimated at jaw-dropping sums. Take this 1947 Bentley Mark VI Cabriolet for example, about to be put up for auction, in an event organized by Barrett Jackson, and expected to be purchased for no less than $2 million.

The 1947 Bentley Mark VI Cabriolet is a historic model, probably well known by auto enthusiasts around the world. But contrary to all beliefs, the brand alone is not the only factor that contributed to its success. The functional features of the model match its worldwide fame. A 6-cylinder inline engine with a displacement of 4566cc, and worked on a manual 4-speed transmission makes this a true delight to drive. Reaching from 0-100 km/ph only takes 15 seconds and the car can get to speeds of 161 km/ph.

Its exterior is ostentatious and welcoming. The black and chrome accented coupe chassis contrasting the red interior seems a perfectly suited choice for the convertible design. It is of no surprise the model earned various awards throughout the time (50 titles to be more exact), such as the prestigious August 1991 Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance or the September 1991 San Diego Concourse d’Elegance.
