Traditional and Modern Combined: Mamilla Hotel in Jerusalim

Conserving the traditional architecture of Jerusalem, Israel, the Mamilla Hotel offers guests a genuine experience in a country filled with spirituality. The original hotel was designed by Safdie Architects in a district that marks the junction of the old and new city.

Staying true to its “dividing” nature, the hotel perfectly blends in the architecture of the area with its walls rendered in traditional Jerusalem limestone and red-tiled roofs, yet hides plenty of unexpected modern features.

According to the official project description provided by the designers, each of the 194 rooms of the hotel surprises and delights: “Inspired by light and the natural materials of Jerusalem, the design blends the eternal with the strikingly contemporary.  Active contrasts with color and textures, from black metal headboards, to light white transparent curtains, wooden floors and natural Jerusalem stone, all play a role in stimulating the senses and relaxing you”.
