Every home needs a quality liquor cabinet or bar. Even if you yourself are not much of a drinker, it’s a good idea to have a few bottles and well-chosen glassware on hand for guests. Few things say ‘gracious host’ quite like a functional and aesthetically pleasing bar. The possibilities for a good liquor cabinet are endless, from repurposing an old steamer trunk for a shabby chic piece, or going antiquing for that perfect mid-century modern cabinet. Another option is the BDI corridor bar.

BDI specializes in sleek, modular furniture. Their corridor bar features a surprising amount of storage space, including a twelve bottle wine rack, a stemware rack, shelves on the doors which are ideal for storing spirits, and various other nooks and crannies for organizing tumblers and other glassware. The louvred doors give the cabinet an attractive appearance when closed, as well as freeing up more space in the surrounding area. Importantly, the top of the cabinet is a durable work surface designed for easy clean up, so that you can mix drinks right on top of the bar. Unsurprisingly, the corridor bar was a recipient for the American Society of Furniture Designers’ 2015 Pinnacle Awards, which recognizes excellent designers in the furniture industry.

The BDI corridor bar retails for around $2500.
