Lavish doesn’t begin to describe the plans for Universal Orlando’s next premium property. Slated to open in the summer of 2016, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will be a tropical fantasyland featuring 1,000 rooms built around a themed lobby lounge, Caribbean-style tropical lagoon and towering waterfall.

The themed property promises to be a luxurious family resort featuring picturesque waterways and pools including one with a water slide, a children’s play area and a sand beach in the central courtyard space. For the most demanding guests, 77 suites will be available in prime locations. The full-service property will feature a large, scenic restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining, a poolside bar-and-grill, a grab-and-go marketplace, fitness center, valet service, and a lush, festive atmosphere.

For occasions when guests actually wish to leave the property – to take advantage of the hotel’s VIP access to early park admission to Universal’s theme parks, for instance, or for a wealth of additional entertainment and dining options nearby – they will be able to do so in style via water taxi or traditional shuttle.

“Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will be every bit as distinctive as the other four on-site hotels,” said Loews Hotels & Resorts Chairman Jonathan Tisch, “and will offer a new option to families looking for a truly special Orlando vacation.”

The goal of Loews Sapphire Falls is to “provide guests with a “completely immersive vacation experience,” said Tom Williams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Universal Parks & Resorts. “We look forward to bringing them yet another incredibly themed experience.”

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will be the ever-expanding theme park’s fifth resort hotel resort, bringing the number of on-site rooms to approximately 5,200. The property will be built directly across Adventure Way from the new Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
