Those who are worried about the home retaining some of the dated aesthetic from the film can rest assured that the interior has been fully renovated and brought into the 21st century. The loudly patterned wallpaper has been replaced with paint in elegant shades of light gray, taupe, cream and seafoam green. Dated wheat-colored carpets have been pulled up to reveal gleaming hardware floors. And, most importantly, the kitchen has been given a complete makeover: gone are the dreary, dark wood cabinets; in their place are cabinets in light shades, as well as gleaming, stainless steel appliances. One wall in the kitchen has been covered in blackboard paint to add a fun touch.

At the back of the property is a sprawling yard that includes an outdoor kitchen, wood-burning stone fireplace, and an al fresco dining area. As can be seen from the exterior photos, the brick facade of the house looks much the same as it did thirty-some years ago. At least from the outside, this house is clearly the home from Sixteen Candles.
