Two icons from the Land of the Rising Sun come under one roof to roll out an exclusive collection for divas based in the US as well as Japan. Renowned make-up artist Shu Uemura teams up with contemporary artist Takashi Murakami to launch a 2013 Christmas Cosmetic Collection.

Christened, ‘Six Hearts Princess’, the 19-piece collection is based on Murakami’s 6HP project. The collection named after the anime of the same name will add a dash of liveliness to the festive season. Fashion collaborator Takashi Murakami’s expertise will transform a woman’s face in to a canvas to exemplify the collection’s essence.

Eye And Cheek Parallel Palette includes seven pearly eye shadows and one cheek blush. For $69, this multihued set is held in a pink and black case. Shu’s Princess Fun-Tasy Mini Brush Set holds portable brushes for $69 too. The gilded purse-like case contains face brush, cheek brush, eyeshadow brush and mascara/eyebrow brush.

The collection also includes lip colors, eyeliners, cleaning oil, false lashes, nail polishes and makeup palettes ranging from $24 to $75. Exclusively available at shuuemura-usa.com, at least one thing from the lineup will find a place on every beautiful lady’s Christmas Gift list. All set to hit the shelves in November, Japanese women will be treated to all the 19 products from the collection. However U.S. shoppers will be restricted to pick from 14 selective items only.

In an exclusive interview to WWD, Murakami said, “I have collaborated with fashion brands [such as Louis Vuitton] in the past and I have experience extracting the culture of Japanese animation and fusing them into new products. Of my different works, “Six Heart Princess” is the one that fits best with this collaboration because it is the most animation-oriented project among my many projects. I also wanted to explore the desire of transformation by looking back to the history of princess animation.”
