Offered year-round during the last week of each month, Ponta dos Gancho’s “Culinary Secrets” invites master chefs from around the world to share their expertise with guests in this Florianopolis paradise.

The next Culinary Secrets will take place from March 25th to 30th featuring guest chef Giancarlo Morelli from tantalizing Pomiroeu restaurant in Seregno, Italy. A participant in the annual esteemed Chef’s Cup, Morelli will bring a flavor of passion and skill to this luxurious, Brazilian getaway.

Ponta dos Ganchos is a haven for beach lovers who appreciate laid-back elegance, romance and seclusion. Extremely well located, the resort is just 40 km (24.85 miles) from Florianópolis and a short hop from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The privately-owned peninsula is surrounded by the stunning waters of the Emerald Coast, guaranteeing total privacy.

The cuisine at Ponta dos Ganchos is strongly influenced by Brazilian traditions and the ingredients of only the freshest, locally sourced, organic variety. The resort-grown 100% organic fruits and vegetables are often showcased in the daily-changing menus. The resort offers several excursions for an additional fee including boat trips, horseback riding, paragliding, scuba diving, whale watching, fishing, rafting, kayaking and helicopter tours.

The resort is in the municipality of Governador Celso Ramos, which is a region immersed in history. Reminiscent of old-time Brazil, the region features quaint fishing villages, peopled by the descendants of the first Azorean immigrants to settle the Santa Catarina coast.

The resort offers several different packages. A five night package (includes two cooking classes as well as meals) starts at BRL9.700,00 ($4,143) per couple; while the course-only package starts at BRL5,520,00 ($2,358) per couple. For guests opting for the Complete or Course Only programs, a cocktail hour will introduce the Chef to the group of budding gastronomes wanting to learn inside tips and tricks (limited to eight participants). As the group is limited in size to eight participants, ensuring interaction between not only Chef and student, but everybody involved.

Guests wanting to visit the resort for the weekend only includes two extraordinary dinners, on Friday and Saturday, for BRL4,180,00 ($1,785) per couple.
