Until Prince Harry pops the question, royal-adjacent Pippa Middleton’s big bash is the closest thing we’re getting to a royal wedding, and her over-the-top weekend nuptials surely didn’t disappoint those looking for news.

But the question we’ve been eagerly anticipating here at Pursuitist wasn’t what the dress would look like (Giles Deacon custom design) or what the reception would be like (lavish and including a fancy flyover) but where she and new husband James Matthews would honeymoon.

Rumors swirled that the newly married couple might head to Africa, as big sister Kate did, but instead the pair opted for a double-moon, touching down for a brief transfer at Los Angeles International Airport before hopping another jet for the ultra-luxe private island of Tetiaroa and The Brando resort, an exclusive eco-resort once owned by actor Marlon Brando in French Polynesia, near Tahiti.

Mrs. Matthews, as she is now called, is in good company at the 35-room resort where rooms start at about $3500 per night. Former President and First Lady Obama also stayed at the property earlier this year after he left office.

It is rumored that after The Brando, the couple will head for a second week in Scotland, where the Matthews family also owns property, before easing back into real life.
