The wonders of aspirin continue to grow.

New research shows that aspirin can help reduce cancer deaths.

The research, recently published in The Lancet, showed that patients who took aspirin regularly for several years were 20% less likely to die of solid tumor cancers. Deaths from esophageal cancer were reduced by 60%, while prostate cancer deaths were cut by 10%. The list goes on with lung cancer deaths cut by 30% and colorectal cancer deaths by 40%.

Experts warn that taking aspirin is not for everyone. Consult with your physician before doing so, since daily aspirin intake can have side affects, such as stomach bleeding.

Ideally, people should start considering adding aspirin into their health routine in the mid-40s – when the risk for cancer begins to really rise.
