The New ASUS PadFone Infinity Runs Faster Than Before

ASUS’s new PadFone Infinity was released in Taipei. As expected, the processor’s performance is superior but in terms of design, don’t expect drastic changes. The brand new Infinity looks almost identical to the older version. You’ve got the same smartphone-tablet combo with 5-inch, an 1920 x 1080 resolution screen that remains the same, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The only thing different you’ll get to notice is the diamond cut on the back, which makes Infinity look a little bit more precious, plus some new color options (black or white).

The main updates refer to the excellent new processor, the 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC and the addition of a microSD slot, allowing you to bump up your storage options. The microSD features implied also new internal storage options (lowered to 16GB and 32GB). The 13 MP camera is now capable of 3MP high-quality photos, which implies taking better shots than before. The pics look sharper and crispier. Last, but not least, this latest better version of Infinity will be preloaded with Android 4.2.2. ASUS PadFone Infinity will be available in Taiwan for now. When it comes down to money, here’s what you need to know: the device will cost around $640 (the 16GB model) to $710 ( the 32GB model).
