Bonnier Corp. announced that it is placing five of its top brands under a new publishing unit to establish a formidable position in the luxury and lifestyle market. The brands in this new group are SKI, Skiing, SNOW, Saveur and Garden Design.

Bonnier CEO Terry Snow has chosen Merri Lee Kingsly to head the group as vice president, publishing. Kingsly has served as Saveur’s publisher for nearly three years, producing impressive double-digit growth in ad pages and revenue despite the recession. Kingsly’s background includes positions at Men’s Journal, Outside and Four Seasons magazines, as well as at Golf Digest, where she was national corporate sales director.

“Merri Lee’s success despite the industry downturn over the last couple years has been unparalleled at Saveur,” Snow says. “Her leadership and vision, along with her marketing expertise, make this move ideal for us. She understands the luxury and lifestyle markets and will be a great asset to the brands and to the customers they serve.”

“All of these brands reach a highly desired audience,” Kingsly says. “I look forward to leveraging all of these great assets across the board to our marketing partners. This new grouping also allows us to bring new integrated opportunities that were not possible before. It’s a win-win for our clients.”

In addition to SKI, Skiing, SNOW, Saveur and Garden Design, the newly created unit includes Warren Miller Entertainment, which produces award-winning feature-length snow-sports films, and NASTAR, the largest recreational ski and snowboard race program in the world.
