Here’s the NYTimes with the review:

What’s not new are the engines. That’s great for the E550, which borrows the S-Class’s 5.5-liter V-8 with a bountiful 382 horsepower. But while the E350’s 3.5-liter V-6 is a smoothie — and is well served by the excellent seven-speed automatic transmission — its 268 horsepower trails 6-cylinder competitors by about 30 horsepower. And while the new car’s 30 percent stiffer structure helps to maintain the E-Class’s peerless solidity, this is the heaviest E yet, from 3,825 pounds for the E350 to 4,145 pounds for the E550 4Matic with all-wheel drive. Mercedes pegs the E350’s 0-to-60 m.p.h. performance at a reasonably swift 6.5 seconds. But the E350 will be swept aside by 6-cylinder cheaters from Audi and BMW, which use supercharging and turbocharging to juice up their respective A6 3.0 and 535i sedans. The E350’s advantage, besides a lower price, is a fuel economy rating of 18 m.p.g. in town, and 26 on the highway, compared with 16/24 for the V-8. – from NYTimes
