When it comes to under-the-radar luxury destinations, Croatia has long topped our list. The European nation just across the Adriatic Sea from Italy offers up much of the seaside flair of la vie Italia, but at a cost savings and cool “under the radar” buzz. Even better? Some of the area’s best resorts are offering up great deals this summer.

As part of this week’s Luxury For Less, we round up a few of our favorite offerings.

Hotel Lone (shown below) situated in the Istrian coastal resort ofRovinj, Croatia, is one of the country’s most striking contemporary hotels. Stay for six nights or longer between now and September 27, 2014 and enjoy 20% off the rate.

Located in the seaside town of Dubrovnik,  Villa Orsula, remains one of the area’s most beloved luxury properties. Built in 1939, the five-star villa went through a complete refurbishment to its 11 guest rooms, two suites, restaurant and public spaces. Villa Orsula is protected with the Old City of Dubrovnik by UNESCO, and is adorned with stone architecture and beautiful archways throughout. Their summer offer includes a three-night stay with airport transfers, a private shopping excursion with €100 gift card and bottle of champagne from €836 per night.

For a dose of history (and cinema fame), sample Hotel Excelsior, which celebrated its 100th birthday last year. The adjacent Villa Agave is the ultra-luxurious three bedroom villa that was formerly the residence of famous archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans. The villa is adorned with valuable antique details and boasts five outdoor terraces, offering guests exceptional privacy and breathtaking views across the bay to the Old Town of Dubrovnik and the Island of Lokrum (where HBO’s Game of Thrones is filmed). Suite accommodation starts at €770 per night, plus the priceless knowledge that you’re staying at the same place that celebs like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Sir Roger Moore, Sophia Loren and Francis Ford Coppola once bedded down.
