Louis Vuitton opened the doors of its Series 3 exhibition to explore the unconventional mind of their creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. Housed on the Strand in London, Louis Vuitton Series 3: Past, Present, Future is series of intimate and immersive, multi-sensory installations.

Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton, explains to WWD about the high-tech showcase,“We’re experimenting with how to make you feel the show more intensely than being at the show.”

Tracing back to Nicolas Ghesquière’s fall collection, the exhibition is spread over three floors and thirteen rooms. It highlights the craftsmanship, inspiration and creative process that went in to putting up the collection which was paraded in a series of geodesic domes erected at the foot of the Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris in March.

A skeletal example of one dome lords over the ceiling of the darkened room that opens the exhibition and leads in to a futuristic tunnel that opens a whole new world.

Curated to slow people down, and exalt the craftsmanship that “gets short shrift at a fashion show,” the exhibition features mirrored walls with catwalk projections and large LV trunks suspended from the ceiling.louis-vuitton-series3_exhibition_12 It is also home to artisans from Vuitton who demonstrate the assembly process for Ghesquière’s miniature trunk bags.In one room, visitors can sit at a work station and are invited to place their hands on the table, which is actually an interactive screen that springs to life and mimics the hands doing everything it takes to make a handbag.Finished accessories are displayed in a blinding white room on white mannequins embedded in walls and plinths, putting the sole focus on the French house’s iconic handbags and shoes.

Created to cater to the rise in the trend of sharing pictures on social media platforms, the exhibition boasts of photo-friendly features like mirrored walls, bright white spaces, figurative sculptures and large-scale digital screens. It also displays a Louis Vuitton sticker wall where visitors can take stickers of their iconic handbags and shoes as well as the show space.According to Burke, Louis Vuitton is expecting about 100,000 visitors in London and after wrapping up in the British capital, Series 3 is scheduled to open in Singapore in early November.

This modern and unexpected reinterpretation of a fashion show is open to the public with free admission from 10am to 8pm, from September 21st to October 18th 2015.Louis Vuitton Series 3 opening event was attend by Nicolas Ghesquière along with stars like Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung, Clemence Poesy, Michelle Williams, Alicia Vikander, Poppy Delevingne and other A-listers from the fashion world.  Louis_Vuitton_Series_3_Exhibition_Cara_Delevingne_Selena_Gomez Louis_Vuitton_Series_3_Exhibition_Catherine_Denevue_Michelle_Williams Louis_Vuitton_Series_3_Exhibition_Selena_Gomez_Nicolas_Ghesquière_MIchelle_Williams
