After selling his Malibu Beach House for $17.35 million, Leonardo DiCaprio has acquired a new estate in Palm Springs, California. The “Wolf of Wall Street” Oscar-nominated actor picked up the former home of popular entertainer Dinah Shore for $5.2 million. The 7,022-square-foot, 1.34-acre Donald Wexler-designed estate features six bedrooms, a pool, tennis court and detached gym. The “tennis estate” was recently sold for $4.9 million in 2011 and certainly fits the Palm Springs style — wide-open interior spaces with sleek lines and windows all around that open to views of the outdoors with the always-present blue sky, mountains and palm trees.

Listing details from the agent: Designed by architect Donald Wexler for Dinah Shore in 1964, this legendary tennis estate defines timeless architecture. The 1.3 acre property offers a rare opportunity to experience a piece of architecture and design that embodies the enjoyment of past, present and future. Extensive renovations have been done to bring the interiors current while honoring the original style of the home. This mid-century modern property embraces the beauty of the environment by commingling the interior and exterior space, while using materials Wexler might have used if available to him during the original construction. This multi leveled single story mansion includes walls of floor to ceiling glass which frames views of the verdant back yard and the magnicant mountains beyond.
