Have you ever wanted to throw beautiful dinner parties with a menu that will impress your guests?

Learn the art of French Cuisine with a bespoke cooking class that is celebrating recipes from the recently published cookbook The Beautiful Story of Mont-Saint-Michel: with 88 recipes from La Mère Poulard (Editions du Chêne, 2018). This beautifully photographed cookbook explores the history of Mère Poulard’s famous restaurant, with recipes by six famous French chefs who were inspired by her.

La Mére Poulard dates back to 1889, and fans of the restaurant and hotel include Ernest Hemingway and Yves Saint Laurent.Mont-Saint-Michel, the dream-like island of the coast of Normandy is a UNESCO world heritage site and a favorite among European visitors.

Founded by Anne “Annette” Boutiaut (1851-1931) who married Victor Poulard on 14 January 1873. The couple’s restaurant became famous for its giant souffél-like omelettes, made in copper bowls and cooked over an open fire. The secret of the recipe has been kept for over 300 years. 

The hands-on cooking class will be held at the Miette Culinary Studio located at 132 Mulberry Street, Suite 2D (between Grand and Hester Streets))  in New York City on October 19th at 6:30PM.

 

Specific recipes that will be prepared:

–          Stuffed clams

–          Normandy-style rice with shrimp

–          Leg of lamb with white kidney beans and sage sauce

–          Cider-poached pears and vanilla ice cream

 

Tickets for this unique cooking experience are $125 and everyone will receive a complimentary copy of the book.
