Karl Lagerfeld deserves a standing ovation for designing the most graceful, innovatively designed Autumn/Winter 2014 Haute Couture collection for Chanel. The ‘Le Corbusier goes to Versailles’ themed collection was unveiled as a part of the Paris Fashion Week at Grand Palais.

Seamlessly blending past with future, the entire line jazzed up with historical baroque embellishments on contemporary cuts. Models sashayed down the catwalk wearing clothes and accessories that would appeal to the Marie Antoinettes of today.

Apart from the opulently designed apparels from the collection, other highlights that stole the show included heavily embroidered 80s-styled messenger bags, tailor-made baker boy hats, flat flip-flops with black silk ribbons and spiked hairstyles.

While Sam McKnight was behind the spikey hair style  Maison Michel’s embroidered hats added a touch of glamour with a twist.

Encapsulating about his latest collection, he added that it is Haute Couture without the Couture.
