He has done it again! Just like his creations, Karl Lagerfeld’s shows are also designed to stun the fashion as well as media world with out-of-the-box themes. After last year’s Chanel branded supermarket, Karl has hit the streets of Paris with protest themed spring/summer 2015 show. The Grand Palais was transformed into an elaborate Paris boulevard which hosted the catwalk. The Boulevard Chanel staged a street protest lead by Cara Delevingne and supported by Gisele Bündchen, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Edie Campbell, Gigi Hadid, Charlotte Free Georgia May Jagger, Toni Garn, Caroline de Maigret and more.

The accessories matched up to the theme with a crystal-studded whistle pendant dangling from strands of pearls and bags printed with the slogans like Make Fashion Not War, Féministe mais Feminine and Votez Coco. Other accessories that hit the roadway included transistor radios attached to Chanel gold chains, pastel tie-dye bags, laced up sandals and flat footwear.chanel-spring-summer-2015-ready-to-wear-looks-16In an interview after the show, Karl states that he has used lots of color which is very unlike his style. He also mentioned that though Chanel is expensive and certainly not meant for the streets, its a style that can be carried elegantly under all circumstances. He also highlighted the new Coco Girl bag which is designed to be worn like a jacket tied around the waist or across the body. And since Chanel is synonymous to jackets, he has reinvented the styling of the jackets for this collection. chanel-spring-summer-2015_karl_lagerfeldConceived by Karl, such a protest made a fashion statement in the most playful and colorful style. Walking down the Parisian street styled catwalk, the models were high on energy as well as style.
