The man is all over the world, spreading Karl-touch to every possible corner of this planet. Behold! Karl Lagerfeld Hotel will rise up as the world’s first fully designed luxury hotel by the chief designer of Chanel and Fendi in Cotai, Macau. Till now we have seen Karl charm well-heeled travelers by giving a makeover to suites, restaurants and even pool side decor of some the luxury hotels worldwide. But now he has decided to design a full fledged hotel with every inch of it symbolizing Karl Lagerfeld.

Karl Lagerfeld has partnered with Sociedade de Jogos de Macau to announce the 20-storey designer hotel which will contain 270 guestrooms and suites. The new hotel will be a part of Lisboa Palace which will include around 2,000 hotel rooms in The Lisboa Palace Hotel, Palazzo Versace Macau and Karl Lagerfeld Hotel.

And since fashion arena was not enough to contain his creative skills, Karl has spread his wings to the hotel industry, starting off with a bang. He declared, “I am very happy and proud to work on such a great project: An entire hotel designed by me. It’s the first time for me! I think the idea is great!” Wonder if the decor of the hotel will also be dominated with the use of his signature tweeds and quilts, akin to his collections!

Even Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, Dr. Ambrose So, commented, “We are excited to collaborate with Karl Lagerfeld, a multi-talented and visionary designer, to introduce the first KARL LAGERFELD Hotel. Together with Palazzo Versace Macau and our own Lisboa brand, our destination resort will become a hub of luxurious accommodation. This partnership further demonstrates Sino-western cultural interchange which has a long tradition in Macau.”

The Macau hotel is being developed under his own brand, Karl Lagerfeld Greater China. Scheduled to open in 2017, the Lisboa Palace will also include a full range of non-gaming facilities, a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, a themed retail mall, a wedding pavilion and a multi-purpose theater along with the three hotels.
