Christened Karl Lagerfeld: A Visual Journey, it explores the world of German fashion designer-turned-photographer and his interests. karl-lagerfeld-pinacotheque_1The master of re-invention captures everything that fascinates him, right from fashion, architecture to Paris at night as well as all manner of personalities. Open from October 16 2015 until March 20 2016 at the Pinacothèque de Paris, a private museum just behind the Madeleine Church in Paris, Karl Lagerfeld’s exhibition celebrates the designer’s passion for photography and his camera skills.Karl Lagerfeld, Designed by Man and Nature, 2010, Screen PrintingWhile one image showcases acrylic print of Kendall Jenner’s shoot for American Harper’s Bazaar, 2015 by Karl, another image is of a screen printing of Karl Lagerfeld’s Designed by Man and Nature, 2010.

One of the most acclaimed fashion designers in the world explains about his style of working behind the lens, “People always want to know about my style of photography. I can’t answer that. That’s up to viewers to decide. I don’t have a style, but several, or none. You should never stay still, neither in life, nor in fashion, nor in photography.”

Lagerfeld also experiments with all kinds of photographic and printing technologies, from Polaroids and daguerreotypes to so-called fire-etchings in which photos are printed on glass.
