iPhone rumors abound, but here are a few things that are trending with regarding to the next version of Apple’s smartphone.

First, Apple insider has taken note of an Apple patent for a system that allows the iPhone’s sensors to seamlessly increase and decrease volume, as well as switch between the device’s multiple speakers, depending on how far away the handset is from a user.

Another rumor hitting the web was a claim that Apple is planning to increase the resolution of future iPhone models to 1.5 million pixels — double that of the pixel count on the current iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 has a pixel count of nearly 730,000, with a screen resolution of 1,136 x 640 pixels. Some analysts are skeptical of this rumor because the increased resolution is not going to be able to be seen by a human being with the naked eye.

Another item that vexes Apple watchers is the release date of the next iPhone. Rumors continue to heat up that something will be revealed on June 20 at the Worldwide Developers Conference. There is even some speculation that both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 could be put on display next month, but most analyst are betting on a fall release, with September being the likely candidate. Do expect to see iOS 7 on display at the June conference.

No matter what date the next iPhone is released, expect some fun changes: more colors, bigger screens, fingerprint technology, better audio, NFC and wireless charging are on the agenda.
