Four months after being set back by a fire, the luxury hotel in the French capital’s Place Vendôme is now taking bookings ahead of its June 5 reopening. Some dates are already fully booked.

After a blaze broke out January 19 in the luxury hotel in Paris’s Place Vendôme, ravaging the roof and upper floor, the Ritz Paris is finally set to reopen June 5. The fire proved a harsh blow for the establishment, owned by billionaire Mohammed Al-Fayed, as the hotel had been scheduled to reopen March 14 after several years’ closure.

The Ritz Paris closed its doors in August 2012 for a long period of major renovation works. A decision not taken lightly, but with the clear ambition of securing the “Palace” status given to the French capital’s most prestigious hotels, like Le Bristol and the Four Seasons Hotel Georges V.

The revamped Ritz Paris will also lift the lid on a new health club and spa, with Chanel skincare treatments, plus fitness facilities, a steam room and a sauna.
