Luxury hotel lovers in NYC know that 60 Thompson was a name synonymous with the creative elite. Now, nearly 15 years later, the hotel has rebranded as SIXTY SoHo, debuting a multi-million dollar renovation and all-new look as the flagship of the new SIXTY hotel brand.

The newly renovated hotel promises “classic elegance,” “bohemian chic” and “modern sophistication,” which would all be meaningless PR buzzwords if we hadn’t had a chance to see it for ourselves in the gorgeous imagery below.

The design is the brainchild of hotel brand founder Jason Pomerac, his brothers, and Tara Bernard, a London-based interior architect and designer.

From the entrance, with its custom iron fencing, to its cafe-style seating in the entry, we love the hotel’s residential feel.

Expect 97 guestrooms and suites with planked timber floors, leather furniture and pops of blue color with custom artwork from London-based artist Harland Miller. SFERRA bedding and REN amenities complete the experience.

The best room in the house is the duplex SIXTY Loft, which features a large roof deck with unobstructed Manhattan skyline views.

SIXTY’s food also promises to be exciting. John McDonald (Lure Fishbar, B&B Winepub, El Toro Blanco, Bowery Meat Company) plan to open Sessanta, a casual restaurant serving coastal Italian fare, in early 2015. Later this month, the hotel will also open a new lobby bar, new menus for in-room dining and Above SIXTY, the hotel’s guest-only rooftop terrace.
