glendronachcask2The GlenDronach Distillery, nestled in Scotland’s rolling East Highland hills in secluded Aberdeenshire (in the Speyside whisky district), has been producing Scotch whisky since 1826. The distillery employs traditional disilling techniques, using meticulous care and patience to product rich, single malt whiskies.

GlenDronach has been known for producing sherried single malts, and their latest release, The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 2, is no exception.

The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch Two has been matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. On the nose you’ll get rich aromas of honey-drenched raisins and sultanas, candied ginger and orange peel, spiced with a note of oak. On the palate, the whisky balances the traditional sherry character with chocolate, raisins and zest of orange, mellowed with sweet, warm oak spices and hints of toffee and almonds.

The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch Two Scotch Whisky does not contain an age statement – a growing trend in the whiskey industry.

The GlenDronach is imported into the United States by Anchor Distilling Company of San Francisco.

A bottle of The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch Two is not cheap. The retail price is $150 a bottle. But fans of the GlenDronach brand shouldn’t be disappointed in this latest offering.
