The countdown has begun, the talent has been booked, the music has been selected and the outfits have been chosen. All that’s left to do is wait, impatiently wait, like a kid about to go to Disneyworld, but has yet to arrive at the airport. It is officially 7 days until Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out in London and pretty much every fashionista is scouring the blogosphere for the latest news on the shopping event of the year. A fashion extravaganza of epic proportions featuring a staggering 281 participating retailers from the capital’s most iconic brands to the high street’s most beloved shops. Now in its third year, London’s FNO is nothing short of extraordinary. Expect to rub elbows with models, designers, A-listers and fashion’s elite as you navigate your way through the streets of London, bouncing from boutique to high street retailer, sipping Champagne and Pimm’s cocktails and partaking in festivities that up until now, have only appeared in your dreams. It may sound like madness, but the clever arrangement of events, deals and activities spread across the city will throw anyone into a state of fashion euphoria. Here’s a look at some of the night’s highlights:

Roller Retailer: Dust off your skates, as Rupert Sanderson’s shop will transform into a glittery roller disco, complete with groovy tunes and glammed up 70’s style.

An Appetite for Fashion: Hunting down the perfect platform wedges can stir up quite an appetite. So as you mingle with the fashion folk, don’t forget to try the Hakkasan canapés at DVF or the mini toad-in-the-holes at Mulberry. Indulge your sweet tooth at Jaeger with Yoo Moo frozen yoghurt sundaes or hop over to Thomas Pink to sample the delectable Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes.

A Paparazzi’s Heaven: Fancy a chance to pose for the paparazzi? Then, FNO is your time to shine. Everyone from Armani Exchange to Tommy Hilfiger are featuring photo shoots, red carpets and styling sessions to ignite the model in everyone. H&M and Daks will have pop-up photo booths, Jimmy Choo is rolling out the red carpet and Dior is turning a black cab into the ultimate dressing room.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Fashion: British Heritage department store, Liberty, will debut Lulu Kennedy’s new collection, Lulu + Co, amidst a Hawaiian themed luau, including Mahiki signature coconut rum cocktails. If that wasn’t enough, Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicholl, Michael Van der Ham, Bella Freud and Simone Rocha will be available to speak with their devout followers about their new collections.

The Beauty and the Designer: Edie Campbell will show off her hosting chops as she and Matthew Williamson will turn his Bruton Street boutique into a launch party for his new diffusion line, MW by Matthew Williamson.
