Fairmont DC renoOne of the District of Columbia’s best addresses is about to get even better. Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is about to begin a $27 million renovation of the 415-room luxury hotel.

The redesign will be led by designers Pierre Josselin and Ayten Nuhoglu of New York-based Wimberly Interiors. Phase One starts the improvements in December 2015 and will refurbish all guestrooms including the exclusive Fairmont Gold Floor and lounge. Designers will also convert the executive forum amphitheater into a 2,900 square foot junior ballroom to add entertaining space for social events and weddings, and to increase group meeting capacity.

Specialty suites will increase from five to seven, and all double guestrooms will feature two queen beds.  An upgraded high speed internet system and in-room media panels will keep guests and meeting attendees well connected.  The project is scheduled to be completed by April 15, 2016, just in time for wedding and tourist season, and all the hoopla leading into the 2016 Presidential election.
