Pearls are a rage this year, ruling over the world of fashion as well as art. The world’s most iconic artist jeweler has created the most precious and coveted objets d’art, the Fabergé Pearl Egg. Founded in Russia, the company is renowned for making the decorative arty eggs that were originally made to be exchanged as gifts during Easter presents among the elite.

The company has partnered with the Al-Fardan family, one of the world’s most renowned collectors of pearls, to design the unique egg. It is also the first egg created in the ‘Imperial Class’ since 1917. The bejeweled object draws inspiration from the formation of a pearl within an oyster. The egg’s mother-of-pearl exterior opens to reveal a unique grey pearl of 12.17 carats, sourced from the Arabian Gulf and exhibiting exceptional purity and a highly unusual shade of grey.

Set in white and yellow gold, the egg is ornamented with 139 fine, white pearls with a golden lustre, 3,305 diamonds and carved rock crystal. The masterpiece is complemented with a Fabergé necklace made of white pearls, diamonds and mother of pearl featuring a scallop motif. The neck-piece is finished with an exquisite 19.44 carat white pearl drop.

Fabergé is delighted to celebrate these “jewels of the sea” in the exquisite Fabergé Pearl Egg which has been unveiled at the ongoing Doha Watch and Jewellery Exhibition.
