Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has always loved to push the limits with their bikes. Their latest endeavor – the limited-edition Ducati 1199 Superleggera – does exactly that. It’s a lean, mean machine weighing in at a mere 342 pounds – the lightest bike every made by the company. And Ducati claims the bike has ‘the highest power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle’.

The Ducati 1199 Superleggera sports a 1198cc four-valve L-twin engine that produces over 200 horsepower. The base design is based off the 1199 Panigale R model. But to lighten up the bike, there’s a magnesium monocoque frame, forged magnesium wheels, carbon fiber bodywork and rear sub-frame, and a full titanium exhaust system. Ducati has even added a lighter lithium-ion battery, titanium bolts and fasteners, and other components specifically chosen reduce the bike’s weight.

Only 500 Ducati 1199 Superleggera bikes will be made. The cost: $65,000.
