Entering a world of inspiring design to grab lunch or dinner could very well be placed at the top of out travel requirements. Amazing colors, elegant details and fascinating textures are employed by restaurant designers in order to create a complete dining experience.

La Nonna Cucina Bar in Mexico City is no stranger to this concept. Esrawe Studio made sure the interiors are as welcoming as the scented foods. Inspired by the aromas and textures of traditional Italian cuisine, the restaurant showcases brick, wood, firewood and vegetation in an effort to bring Italian savoir to the table. A stunning brassed metal spoon lamp installation steals the spotlight – it was made out of 1,500 spoons and hung by the vaulted ceiling in the main hall. Underneath, oak chairs display legs reminiscent of traditional Italian rolling pins.

Adapted to its surroundings, the restaurant offers a strong connection to the city: “Approaching to La Nonna, one notices the dialogue of continuity with the park and the public space, specifically of the Lincoln Park, in the Polanco neighborhood, in Mexico City.”
