Most of the fliers desire to fly higher by seeking an upgrade to a higher class. Delta Air Lines elevates their services to keep up to such desires at least for Delta’s SkyMiles Medallion members. A new surprise-and-delight program by Delta, Delta Vacations and Delta Private Jets will soon allow some fliers traveling on select commercial Delta flights to upgrade an existing reservation to fly privately.delta_airlines_upgrade_private_plane_1Though not open to all fliers on all routes, the private upgrade opportunities will only be rolled out in limited numbers to select passengers in specific markets where an available Delta Private Jets aircraft is otherwise not in use. Certainly such an over-the-top opportunity is not available for free as Delta will charge customers between $300 and $800 for each seat. This upgrading fee also includes transportation to the airport’s private aviation area and complimentary on-board catering.

This is an innovative way for us to thank valued Delta customers for their loyalty.”

“Delta, Delta Vacations, and Delta Private Jets are uniquely able to deliver on a program that gives customers the ability to upgrade to an open seat on a private jet,” said Cyril Turner, President, Delta Global Services and Delta Private Jets & S.V.P.–Delta Connection.

A Cincinnati couple, traveling to Atlanta, are the first fliers to avail this one of its kind program in the world. They were upgraded from a commercial airplane to a Falcon 2000, a large cabin jet that seats up to 10 passengers. They even had their own flight attendant, who provided them with complimentary champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and lunch during the flight
