Armchairs picked out by Jacqueline Kennedy and silverware used by Ronald Reagan will go on display Saturday at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery in an exhibition of decorative objects from the White House. “Something of Splendor: Decorative Arts from the White House” is running from Oct. 1, 2011 to May 6, 2012.

“The idea was to be able to show some of the many treasures we have in the White House collection that don’t normally get to be seen,” said Melissa Naulin, assistant curator of the White House. “The idea was to be able to show some of the many treasures we have in the White House collection that don’t normally get to be seen.”
