Located a few blocks from the heart of Lake Forest, Illinois, Two Gables is an extraordinary home with a prestigious pedigree.

Originally designed and built in 1910 by Harrie T. Lindeberg, it was renovated and redesigned in 1928 by David Adler who is famed for his classical houses throughout the Chicago area. At that time the home was owned by Laurance Armour of the Armour meatpacking fortune.

The home is set on 7.5 secluded acres and this gated and fenced property includes the main house with attached two-car garage, a detached four-car garage with one bedroom apartment, in-ground pool, pool house and two separate driveway entrances.

Inside there are ten fireplaces, hardwood floors, an elegant paneled library, welcoming great room, butler’s pantry, gourmet eat-in kitchen and more.

In 2006, the home was completely renovated and expanded and was awarded the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation Rehabilitation Award. The front wall was built in November 2009, and the coach house was built in October 2011. Jens Jensen designed the original gardens, most of which have been restored.

This home is listed for $7.5 million with @properties and is showcased by Luxury Portfolio.
