Daily Dream Home: The Shoppable Home of Sag Harbor

In the heart of picturesque Sag Harbor, New York is this newly restored historic home. Originally built in 1870, it offers all the charm of a quaint Victorian era with the most modern amenities and cutting-edge technology.
Compass has partnered with Domino and Visualxchange (VX), developers of a new app called Stage & Shop, to allow prospective homebuyers and design enthusiasts to learn more about and purchase any of the house’s products, furnishings or finishes. Through easily scannable QR codes, visitors to the home can—in real-time—access the brands’ own web sites including  Paintzen, Room and Board, The Tile Shop, Formica, PPG Paints, Pottery Barn, Avocado Green Mattress, Minted.com, The Laundress and Legrand. The home’s interiors are done by Katie Lydon.
The 3100 square foot, four-bedroom, four-bath home has been re-constructed top to bottom to create light, bright spaces with a clean, fresh feel and three-zone, energy-efficient systems. The floor plan offers both chic entertaining areas and private relaxing spaces. Smart home technology controls everything in the home from temperature, lighting, and security to the irrigation in the backyard.
The mahogany porch with its signature spindle columns leads through Dutch doors into the open floor plan first level which draws the eye through to the beautifully landscaped backyard and terrace.
A living room opens onto a ship-lapped parlor with gas fireplace and custom wet bar with pocket doors revealing a charming den with its own full bath.
All baths throughout are done with marble and feature authentic cast iron tubs and sinks.
Another set of pocket doors reveals a spacious eat-in kitchen with a large central island and top-end, chef’s kitchen appliances, with a full pantry and washer/dryer. Wide plank pine floors echo the home’s historic past.
French doors transition seamlessly the inside to the outside and the private back yard with bluestone patio, barbecue, living and dining spaces and a cottage garden with boxwood, hydrangeas and euonymus.
The second floor features two well-sized guest bedrooms with a full bath and a master suite with French doors leading onto a private terrace. The luxurious master bath enjoys its own wet room with expansive shower and cast iron tub and dual sinks and includes a large walk-in closet.
A rare third floor features a cast-iron stove warming a full library with custom shelving hiding plenty of storage, perfect for an office with another bedroom and full bath. This home is listed for $3.195 million with Matt Breitenbach and Beth Felsen of The Breitenbach Advisory Team of Compass.
