Long before Hawaii was a state, Honolulu and surrounding areas were already growing rapidly. Today’s home in the historic neighborhood of Manoa was built in 1926, when Hawaii was still a republic and is listed on the state’s historical register.

The six-bedroom home has a Georgian Revival style with Craftsman details. There is a four-bedroom main house with a two-bedroom apartment.

On the main level of the house a large screened in front porch provides a gracious retreat from the world.

After entering through the porch you come into the grand living room. Wood floors, the spaciousness and the windows give the home a welcoming feel.

The dining room divides the living room and the den and opens out to the brick patio in the backyard.

The den has the typical old-style Hawaiian punei for lounging, built in cabinets for office space, and even a brick fireplace.

There is a sitting room with a window seat and built in china cabinets between the formal dining room and kitchen.

The kitchen has a view of Diamond Head and there is an attached sunroom with a casual dining space also with the great view, and an outdoor lanai for outdoor dining and viewing pleasure.

The main house has views out to Diamond Head including from the master bedroom. Two of other bedrooms have their own spacious lanai to enjoy the view.

The basement level of the house has a playroom , exercise space, a work shop, storage, a laundry area, and a half bath  as well as the separate two-bedroom apartment.

This property is listed for $3.2 million with Hawaii Life.
