Homes wrapped in wood seem to be the new trend these days. These types of modern residences do not only showcase a beautiful exterior, but are also sustainable. The Haack House is a lovely example of a wood-cladded residence. The two-story contemporary home designed by Brazilian studio 4D-Arquitetura and located in Guaíba, Brazil displays quite a few inspiring details.

The Haack House was developed within a neighborhood where laws restrict fences. This means the architecture had to be adapted to this situation, by providing the inhabitants with extra safety measures. Wooden walls cover the main windows of the house, ensuring privacy. According to the architects, the project had the design developed “in three parallel horizontal bars that protects terrain sides. Its structure was built on metal girders and pillars with two large concrete plans that serve as support. This solution allowed free internal spaces and large swings at the front and back of the house, creating two covered open livings.”

The interior design of the residence is highly modern. An open plan living room with integrated kitchen and bar sets the atmosphere for the entire home. The pool table is probably the focal point of the area, and is an open invitation to socializing.
