Chevrolet Unveils 2016 Camaro Convertible

A preview video and press shots of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible shows off its fully automatic roof that opens and closes while the car is in motion. Watch below:

The whole 18-second operation is automated, the only human intervention required is activating the vehicle’s key fob command. The convertible has the capability of opening or closing at speeds up to 30 mph.

The cost of the four-seater 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible was not revealed by General Motors, though it is expected to be $5,000 to $6,000 higher than its Coupe siblings.

Buyers will have six all-new powertrain combinations. They include a 275-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, an all-new 335-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 455-hp 6.2-liter V8 engine.

The 2016 Chevy Camaro convertible will be built alongside the Camaro coupe at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan.
