It is reported that Europe’s biggest department store has plans to open Harrods hotel brand at prime locations worldwide. The chairman of the company’s executive board, Ahmad Al-Sayed, stated, “Everything is for discussion, and we are studying different ways of expansion.” Clearly stating that another Harrods store will not be erected, he did hint about the probability of NYC topping the list of prime cities which are being considered for the location of this forthcoming hotel building. If shopping at Harrods store renders one of the most profoundest experience then expect a stay at Harrods hotel to raise the bar of luxuriousness for sure.
He also added that new standalone Harrods watch store at Heathrow Terminal Two will “recreate the opulence” of the most sought after Knightsbridge destination.
Lately Harrods has also been in limelight for the installation of a new glass chandelier. Costing over $1.6 million, the enormous glass chandelier, Amber and Gold, has been unveiled in the grand hall entrance of the department store. Created by renowned American glass artist Dale Chihuly, the chandelier is made up of 1,500 light pieces.
It is the first ever commissioned piece of art by Harrods, celebrating their partnership with the Halcyon Gallery. This new addition to the store adds to the experience of their esteemed clients who can now shop adorned by one of the most beautiful artworks above their heads.
