Some sweet rides have been coming up for auction of late, and few are better than Ettore Bugatti’s own Type 57C Coupe.
In August, top-drawer auto auctioneers Gooding & Company will be selling an ultra-rare and unique mint condition 1936 Bugatti Type 57C Coupe, built as a birthday present for founder Ettore Bugatti, during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California. The two tone green and black car, which is being offered without reserve, is expected to fetch several million dollars; Gooding sold a similar model last summer for $8 million. Carefully protected and preserved during World War II, after Ettore Bugatti’s death in 1947 the car was maintained and stored at the Bugatti workshop in Molsheim, France. – From James List
