The coat worn by Bruce Lee in his last film “Game of Death” sold for $77,000, far above pre-sale estimates, at a rare auction of the late kung fu icon’s items in Hong Kong Saturday.

Thirteen items went under the hammer at the sale, believed to be the largest-scale auction of Lee memorabilia in the southern Chinese city, where the martial arts star was raised before moving to the United States in his late teens.

The coat — the priciest item in the sale — was originally expected to fetch about HK$70,000 but was sold to a US collector for HK$600,000, almost nine times initial estimates.

Lee wore the coat to a photo session to test the costume during a pre-production shoot prior to his untimely death in 1973 at the age of 32. The film was released posthumously in 1978.
