David Fincher’s The Social Network. A Facebook movie? Really? What a surprise, especially Justin Timberlake’s performance.

Lee Unkrich’s Toy Story 3. A touching conclusion to the Toy Story franchise.

Joel Coen & Ethan Coen’s True Grit. Forget John Wayne, Jeff Bridges abides.

David O. Russell’s The Fighter. Amazing performances from Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Mark Wahlberg.

Davis Guggenheim’s Waiting for Superman. A shocking look at our education system.

Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. After the Wrestler, Swan demonstrates that Aronofsky is on a streak.

Christopher Nolan’s Inception. A box-office hit and one of the most imaginative movies of the year.

Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids are All Right. Annette Bening and Julianne Moore are outstanding.

Byron Howard’s Tangled. Disney still has the magic.

Tom Hooper’s The King’s Speech. Colin Firth is Oscar worthy.
