Bernard Arnault leads the richest lot of France by maintaining the number one position with a fortune of $38.6 billion. Luxury goods tycoon oversees an empire of 60 brands including Dom Perignon, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Sephora, all under the umbrella of LVMH. The 66 year old chairman and chief executive of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton is a noted art collector and is known for his contemporary collection, which includes pieces by Picasso, Yves Klein, Henry Moore and Andy Warhol. The French business magnate, investor. philanthropist and art collector  was also instrumental in establishing LVMH as a major patron of Art in France.

Liliane-Bettencourt-lorealL’Oréal heiress Lilian Bettencourt is crowned as the second richest person of France with a fortune of $34.4 billion. The 92 year old  Frenchheiress, socialite, businesswoman and philanthropist is also the second richest woman in the world.

Axel Dumas and the three families that control Hermès have moved up the ranking of France’s richest people by one position to the number-three slot with a fortune estimated at $26.9 billion.

While it is reported that the net worth of the ten richest people in France totals to over $214 billion, several fashion families slipped slightly in the annual list compiled by weekly news magazine Challenges.
