Larger than life imagery crossed with old school theatrical tradition — this latest Vegas show was an elaborate, high-tech outdoor performance unlike anything Sin City has ever seen!

One the largest water screen projections ever recently took place at the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas as Panasonic presented a powerful spectacle — utilizing 15 of their PT-DZ21K for its backdrop — for a Kabuki style theatrical event featuring Japanese actors Somogero Ichikawa and Yonekichi Nakamura.

Last week, on an immense water backdrop image that was about the size of three NFL Football fields, three live performances of the death-defying “Koi-Tsukami” (or “Fight with a Carp”) wowed in tandem with the Bellagio’s stunning fountains, which were transformed in the spectacle into Japan’s Lake Biwa.  A large fish and turbulent sea were projected onto the Bellagio Hotel Fountains in a battle scene.

The attraction featured a total of 1,214 fountains that can soar to 460 feet and span more than 1,000 feet and interactive onstage backdrops via Panasonic’s projectors.

The event’s aim was to raise global awareness of Kabuki, which is classical Japanese dance-drama, but equally as impressive was the blending of a traditional art form with new high-tech elements — all as part of a prelude to the 2016 Kabuki Festival, which will be held in Las Vegas next year.
