Chris Carel is a car enthusiast. And like all fans of luxury and high performance cars, one of the hardest things he had to do every couple of years was decide which car to live with. For people who love cars, even if you have the money and space for multiple cars, there are always a few others you want to drive on from time to time.
With that insight, Chris sought out to create a way for people like him to have access to the cars they want, whenever they want them, which led him to create the Fast Toys Club.
Started this summer in Los Angeles with 13 cars, the club allows members to join at various levels so they can enjoy driving any one of his stable of cars when they want.
Currently the club’s garage includes ten street cars: a Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari California T, a Dodge Viper SRT, Aston Martin DBS Volante, Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 type 991 Turbo S Cabriolet, Rolls Royce Phantom, Lamborghini Huracan, Mercedes G63 AMG and a 1969 Dodge Charger “General Lee.” As a member you also have access to three race cars: a Pescarolo 02 Le Mans prototype, Ferrari 360 Challenge, and Mustang Boss 302.
There are several membership levels starting with the Discovery Package which gets you 10 days of driving and a 700 mile limit for a one time payment of $8,000. The Silver, Gold, Platinum and Gold plans get you access from 25 days to 365 days and up to 15,000 miles of driving.
Ranging from $1,500 per month to $9,999 per month, annual memberships include all expenses – gas, insurance, maintenance, repair, track time, race instruction and a chauffeur for the Phantom. There is no initiation fee and no cancellation penalty.
But driving the cars is just part of what the membership is all about. With its three race cars, the Fast Toys Club offers regular track days to its members at famous courses throughout California. With three very different cars at your disposal, you can hone your skills and have a great time driving an the Ferrari 360 Challenge, a Mustang Boss 302 racer and a purebred Le Mans prototype capable of a top speed of 186 miles per hour. And your track time comes with a professional instructor who will improve your driving, better understand the concepts and ultimately help you go faster safer.
In addition to track activities, the club sponsors member outings to places like Pebble Beach for the Concours d’Elegance, the US Grand Prix F1 race in Austin, the LA Auto Show and other big automotive events. And when Carel acquires a clubhouse – he says he’s getting closer to securing a location in Los Angeles – the club will serve as a community center for members, hosting dinners, talks by car experts, and be a starting point for organized drives and rallys.
Currently there’s only one Fast Toys Club and the membership is only limited by the number of cars in the stable and as they grow they will purchase more cars, keeping the mix varied and interesting. Carel is also open to starting clubs in other locations and mentioned Dallas, Miami and Atlanta as possible locations as the concept gains traction.
But for now, if you’re a car enthusiast and you live in the LA area, I have only one question, why are you not a member of the Fast Toys Club? For details check out their website at www.fasttoysclub.com
