The 2014 Corvette Stingray has been unleashed – and critics and fans are raving. The Chevrolet Corvette is an American icon, but over the decades the sports car has been greeted with mixed enthusiasm by car buffs. But with the release of the seventh generation Corvette, Chevrolet appears to have gotten everything just right. And at a great price.

The 2014 Corvette has a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and goes 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. Critics are raving about the car’s performance. It is available with a seven-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The new Corvette gets respectable gas mileage – 17 mpg in the city, and 29 mpg on the highway. This is because the V-8 engine can shut off four cylinders when they’re not needed.

The car is attractive and aggressive. You’ll find an arched rear and four tailpipes, a low hood and dashboard. The cockpit is smartly organized and uncluttered, with attractive leather and a comfortable seat.

Great performance and attractive styling are complimented by good pricing. The new Corvette starts at $53,000 for the base and $63,800 for the top-line model with a sports performance package.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray is only the second of the Corvettes to be given the ‘Stingray’ moniker. And it appears to have delivered on its legacy.
