Uber is adding a higher class of service in Los Angeles to its pioneering app-based, ride-sharing service known as UberLUX. Featuring luxury cars like Mercedes Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and Tesla Model-S, UberLUX has a base fee of $20 per ride, with additional rates of $5 per mile and $0.60 per minute added to that base. Minimum trip charge for any UberLUX ride is $30.
Uber promises to use only their highest rated drivers for the Lux service. To promote the new offering, Uber is holding a contest, giving away three free UberLUX service packages to a winner and up to 3 friends, who will be chauffeured by UberLUX driver partners from 9pm – 3am on New Year’s Eve.
