The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sprint will become the next carrier to get Apple’s iPhone.
Word is that Sprint will start carrying the iPhone 5 (as well as the iPhone 4) in October to coincide with its launch.
The move will bring another major carrier into the iPhone universe, joining AT&T and Verizon. With each addition, Apple will continue its strong play in the smartphone arena. For Sprint, the move gives them access to an entire new consumer segment.
The timing of the move indicates that the new iPhone 5 will likely be delivered later than anticipated. Many had expected a launch in September.
