New Jersey native John Eddie has been making music for 30 years, opening up for such superstars as Bruce Springsteen (who he was often compared to) and Bob Seger during the course of his career. However, Eddie never broke into the mainstream after his first few albums in the 80s and 90s, settling in with a modestly successful career as a musician, singer and songwriter.

Eddie’s three decades of performing across the U.S. in bars and clubs has given him a rather weary – but joyous – view of the world. He turns those experiences into wonder music, including his 2003 release, Who the Hell is John Eddie, a funny, sober, heartfelt, raucous and ribald collection of tunes. The song ‘Forty’ is a classic for anyone who’s ever had to turn that dreaded age.

Last month, Eddie released his first album in eight years, titled Same Old Brand New Me. The record brings Eddie’s countrified rock to 18 tracks. It’s wonderfully singable, with Eddie’s songwriting chops on full display.

In addition to the record, Eddie is on tour supporting the record. His shows are first rate, with Eddie’s rock and roll soul turning each concert into a party.
