Mini-Zoo Childcare Center in France Displaying An Oversized Giraffe

An eye-candy design beautifies a modern childcare center in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Reaching through the roof, a giant yellow giraffe gazes towards the horizon, expecting admiration and inspiring future projects. A brainchaild of Hondelatte Laporte Architects, the mini-zoo display also displays the shape of a big-sized polar bear on the upper terrace, as well as a ladybug procession through the garden.

Four yellow legs apparently made out of layers and a giant neck ending with a head are the only visible parts of the giraffe, the body intersecting through the metal cladded building. The Giraffe Childcare Centre is prepared to take on 60 children and an additional 20 in the nursery, creating a dream world where kids can play, learn and socialize in a creative environment. All visitors walk through the giraffe’s legs to get to the entrance – a rite of passage into the world of childish dreams we all strive to recuperate once we grow up. Wouldn’t you have loved to take part in this dream world scenario as a kid?
