The limited edition safe was created to display an exterior shell dipped in gold, although it is primarily made of mahogany and covered in brass. The Millionaire Safe originated in the beginning of the 19th century and tells the story of a period of increased robberies following the 1849 California Gold Rush. “Forty-niner” gold seekers attempted several times to break open the safe, but its sturdy shell – although deformed – has protected the interior split between an open space and lockable drawers.
