After the success of his cartoon avatar, Karl Lagerfeld is playing muse to cartoonist Tiffany Cooper. Also, last year as soon as Karl Lagerfeld Barbie Doll edition was launched it sold out withing an hour worldwide. Such is the Karl-effect!
The German icon, who can no longer be categorized as just a fashion designer, has commissioned French cartoonist Tiffany Cooper to design a capsule collection featuring her drawings of the designer and his famous pet Choupette. Being a pet to one of the most evolutionary designer comes with its share of high-profile benefits! Tiffany has already sketched images of the kaiser and his celebrity fluffy white pet for the feline-themed collection.
A Karl & Choupette’s Vacation foulard priced at $51 is already seen with a sold out tag. While a $28 tee of the same theme is available in two designs, one featuring Miss Choupette with a crown and the other showing the duo relaxing on a vacation.
WWD also reports that the offbeat effigies will appear on a selection of apparel and accessories for spring-summer, debuting at Colette in Paris on April 1 and at Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and shops-in-shop on April 4.
